![]() ![]() At this time Quark will allow one server running at a time, that is monitored via the internet to quarks web site. '¢ Because of our break in network (LAN vs WAN depending on your location)it will be interesting to see how we implement the server. '¢ If the QLA server goes down, quark will not launch on any machines and will work on the machines previously using quark until they quit out of Quark or reboot the machine. This could give us problems in the following areas: When quark starts up it will look for a specific IP address that holds the QLA server and pulls a file back the gives it the licensing needed to run. We now have to load a, Java based, application called, Quark License Administrator (QLA) on a local machine that distributes licenses to each of the production machines. Quark has decided to do away with the per machine licensing, it originally used. It has come to my attention that upgrading to Quark Xpress 5 will be more difficult than initially expected. ![]() From an email sent out to my company today (interesting parts highlighted): quote: ![]()
